A tragic road accident in Idukki claimed the life of a two-wheeler rider on Friday. The incident took place at Puthenpally Junction in Karinkunnam, where a private bus collided with a scooter.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Eldhose Mathai (67), a resident of Oliykkal House in Shalyampara, Vellathooval. He was a lottery ticket vendor and lived in a rented house in Azhakumpara.
Accident Details
The mishap occurred around 3:30 PM on the Thodupuzha-Pala route. Eldhose was traveling on his scooter from the Puthenpally side. As he attempted to cross the road to enter the opposite side, a private bus heading towards Pala struck him. The bus reportedly ran over him, causing instantaneous death.
Postmortem and Family
The body has been moved to the Thodupuzha district hospital for a postmortem examination. After the procedure, it will be handed over to his family. Eldhose is survived by his children Laiju and Lincy, son-in-law Ajayan, and daughter-in-law Jiji.
