Elderly Man Fatally Assaulted in Gurgaon Village Dispute
A tragic incident unfolded in Dundahera village, Gurgaon, on Monday, resulting in the death of a 70-year-old man following a violent altercation. The victim, identified as Jagdish, was brutally beaten with a stone after he objected to a group of men engaging in a loud conversation near his residence.
Details of the Altercation
The confrontation occurred around 4 pm near Bank Gali. Jagdish approached the men, requesting them to either lower their voices or move away from the area. This simple request escalated into a heated argument, quickly turning physical. According to police reports, one of the men, named Monu, pushed Jagdish to the ground and began assaulting him with kicks and punches.
The situation worsened when Monu picked up a large stone and struck Jagdish multiple times on his chest and head. The attack left the elderly man critically injured, with severe trauma to vital areas.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving information about the fight, police officers rushed to the scene. They discovered a blood-stained stone at the location, indicating the severity of the assault. Jagdish had already been transported to a nearby hospital by the time authorities arrived.
At the hospital, Jagdish's son informed the police that he had received a call from a village resident detailing his father's altercation with Monu. A case was promptly registered at the Udyog Vihar police station. Tragically, Jagdish succumbed to his injuries during treatment, leading to the addition of murder charges in the First Information Report (FIR).
Arrest and Confession
The accused, Monu, a 27-year-old painter, has been arrested by the police. Authorities stated that he has confessed to the crime, admitting to his role in the fatal assault. The investigation is ongoing to determine if any other individuals were involved or if there were underlying motives beyond the initial argument.
