Former Municipal Council President Among Three Held in Punjab Drug Bust

During a subsequent search procedure, the illicit substance was allegedly discovered concealed within an envelope. This envelope was reportedly found in the pocket of the kurta being worn by Kamaldeep Singh Bittu at the time of the incident.

Kamaldeep Singh Bittu is a political figure associated with the Congress party. His public service record includes serving multiple terms as the president of the Goraya municipal council. Beyond his political roles, Bittu has also held leadership positions as the head of the Goraya truck union and has previously led the Rurka block Congress unit.
Police sources have revealed that this is not Bittu's first encounter with narcotics-related legal troubles. He was reportedly arrested back in 2015 in a separate case connected to alleged heroin consumption, indicating a pattern of involvement with controlled substances.
