Faridabad Club Birthday Celebration Descends into Chaos and Violence

A festive birthday gathering at a popular brewery in Faridabad's Sector 88 took a horrifying turn late Tuesday night, transforming into a scene of violence and alleged theft. The incident, which stemmed from a seemingly trivial disagreement over music selection, resulted in physical assaults on a father, his daughters, and their friends, prompting police intervention and the registration of a formal First Information Report (FIR).

Dispute Over Song Choice Sparks Initial Confrontation

According to the detailed complaint filed by Raman Grover, a resident of Sector 21A, the evening began as a planned celebration for his elder daughter's birthday at Vayu Brewery on the night of March 26. The situation deteriorated when Grover's daughters and their friends made a simple request to the DJ to change a song. This innocuous appeal triggered an immediate and aggressive argument with a woman present at the venue.

The verbal altercation rapidly escalated, with the woman allegedly slapping Grover's daughter. "They started abusing and misbehaving with my daughters and their friends over a simple request to change the song," Grover stated in his official complaint, highlighting the disproportionate response to a minor social interaction.

Midnight Rescue Attempt Leads to Vicious Group Attack

The crisis deepened around midnight when Raman Grover received a frantic distress call from his daughter. Rushing to the club, he attempted to rescue the children but was met with a violent mob. Grover claims he was attacked by a group of approximately 10 to 12 young men, including one identified as Rishit Chitkara.

"When I tried to save my daughters, they attacked me as well and chased us out of the premises while assaulting us," Grover recounted, describing a terrifying scene where the group showed no restraint. He further alleged that the club's bouncers participated in the assault and accused the management of gross negligence, noting that the owner's son was present but failed to intervene or provide protection.

Significant Financial Loss and Police Investigation Underway

During the chaotic assault, Grover reported that his wallet containing Rs 22,000 in cash and a diamond earring valued at approximately Rs 10.5 lakh were snatched. He described the attackers as heavily intoxicated, which he believes contributed to their violent behavior. Following the incident, Grover managed to secure the safety of the children and later returned to the club with police officers.

Officials from the BPTP police station confirmed that a formal complaint has been lodged. An FIR has been registered against Rishit Chitkara, Vaibhav, and other unidentified individuals under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 115 for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation.

Station House Officer Arvind stated that the investigation is actively progressing, with authorities examining CCTV footage from the club to meticulously reconstruct the sequence of events and identify all perpetrators involved in this disturbing incident.

Broader Context and Victim's Background

The birthday celebration held particular significance as it was planned before Grover's daughter, who is pursuing a finance degree in Canada, was scheduled to return on March 28. The violent interruption of this family event has left the victims traumatized and seeking justice through legal channels.

This case underscores ongoing concerns about safety and security at entertainment venues in the region, highlighting the potential for minor disputes to escalate into serious criminal incidents when proper management and security protocols are not enforced.
