Major Fire Incident at Unoccupied Wedding Venue in Thane's Diva Area
A sudden and intense fire erupted at a deserted wedding venue in the early hours of Sunday, causing significant damage to the stage area in Diva, Thane. The blaze, which broke out around 4:30 am, completely gutted the nearly 2,400 square foot stage section of the lawn located in Mannat Compound on Khardi Road.
Timing and Location of the Incident
The fire occurred just hours after a wedding function had concluded at the venue the previous evening, with all guests having already departed. The location was largely empty at the time, with only a few staff members present on the premises.
Response and Containment Efforts
Staff members who spotted the flames immediately alerted the local fire brigade, which responded promptly to the emergency call. Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to other areas of the venue or nearby structures.
Official Statement and Safety Outcome
Yasin Tadvi, a representative from the regional disaster management cell, confirmed the details of the incident. "There was no one at the location except a few staff who spotted the blaze and alerted the fire brigade, which rushed to the spot and controlled the fire," Tadvi stated. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of this unexpected fire outbreak.
Investigation and Aftermath
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, which is being described as a freak incident given the timing and circumstances. The complete destruction of the stage area represents a substantial loss, though the quick response from emergency services minimized potential further damage. This incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures at event venues, even during non-operational hours.
