Two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire outside the residence of a builder in south Delhi's Saket on Tuesday, allegedly over the builder's refusal to comply with an extortion demand, police said.

Incident Details

The incident occurred in Lado Sarai under the Saket police station area. According to preliminary information, the attackers fired seven rounds outside the home of Mahavir, a local builder, before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.

Extortion Link Suspected

Sources indicated that the firing may be linked to an extortion demand made to the builder by a known individual, who is also associated with a local gang. The main conspirator is believed to be connected to criminal networks operating in the region.

Upon receiving information, police teams rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Crime scene investigators examined the location and collected empty cartridge cases from the scene.
