Late-Night Food Delivery Error Escalates into Violent Clash in Greater Noida Society
A seemingly minor mix-up during a late-night food delivery spiraled into a full-blown violent confrontation at Nimbus Society in Greater Noida's Beta-2 area. The incident, which occurred around 10 PM on Saturday, began when a delivery agent mistakenly approached the wrong flat, leading to an argument that quickly escalated into a chaotic brawl involving dozens of individuals.
How a Simple Doorbell Ring Triggered Chaos
According to police officials, the delivery agent, identified as Rohan Kumar (20), arrived at the society to deliver an order but rang the doorbell of an incorrect apartment. The resident who answered informed Rohan that no food had been ordered from their flat. However, instead of leaving immediately, Rohan insisted that the resident double-check, which prompted the flat owner to call security guards to intervene.
Vinod Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Beta-2 police station, explained, "Once the security guards reached the tower, a heated argument erupted between them and the delivery agent." As more guards arrived and asked Rohan to vacate the premises, the situation grew increasingly tense.
The Rapid Escalation into a Violent Melee
The confrontation took a violent turn when Rohan reportedly called his friends for backup. Within minutes, four to five individuals arrived on two motorcycles, leading to a physical altercation between the two groups. The clash soon spilled out of the residential tower and moved toward the main gate of Nimbus Society.
For over fifteen minutes, kicks, punches, and blows with sticks and rods were exchanged as dozens of people attacked each other in a frenzied brawl. The violent scene was captured in videos that later circulated widely on social media platforms, causing panic among residents and passersby in the vicinity.
Police Intervention and Legal Action
Interestingly, no one from the society initially informed the police about the ongoing violence. Law enforcement authorities eventually reached the spot after receiving information from other sources and managed to bring the situation under control. By that time, however, the accused individuals had fled the scene, leaving behind their motorcycles.
Police later examined the viral video footage and other evidence from the incident. Based on a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Amar Pal, an FIR was registered against the arrested accused and unknown persons under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):
- Section 191(2) - Rioting
- Section 191(3) - Rioting armed with deadly weapon
- Section 190 - Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object
- Section 115(2) - Voluntarily causing hurt
- Section 352 - Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace
Arrests and Investigation Details
The police have arrested four individuals in connection with the violent incident:
- Rohan Kumar (20), the delivery agent and a resident of Dadri
- Akash Singh (24), a security guard at Nimbus Society
- Abhishek Chand (19), another security guard
- Rajesh Kumar (19), a third security guard
"The delivery boy and his associates escaped after leaving behind their motorcycle," stated SHO Vinod Kumar. "We recovered two bikes from the spot and identified Rohan through their number plates." The security guards were identified after police scanned the society's CCTV footage and examined the roster book containing guard details.
The investigation continues as authorities work to identify Rohan's associates who participated in the brawl but managed to evade immediate capture. This incident highlights how minor misunderstandings can rapidly escalate into serious public disturbances, requiring significant police resources to resolve.
