In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the educational community, the Bijarad police in Jaisalmer have arrested four individuals for the abduction and brutal assault of a Class 12 student who had arrived at his school to appear for a board examination. The horrifying event unfolded on Monday, culminating in the student being dumped on a roadside in Barmer district with severe injuries.

Details of the Arrest and Accused

The four accused have been identified as Naryanram (40), Bajrang, Tejpal, and Lakshman, all residents of Barmer district. Police authorities confirmed that an FIR has been formally registered against them, and they are currently undergoing intensive interrogation to uncover the motive behind this vicious attack. The swift action by law enforcement highlights the seriousness with which this case is being treated.

Sequence of the Abduction and Assault

According to police reports, the victim, Prakash (17), was abducted from the school premises by the four accused, who forcibly took him away in a Bolero vehicle. The abduction occurred while Exam Centre Superintendent Bhanwarlal Mayla was away at the police station to collect examination papers, leaving the student vulnerable. Witnesses at the scene recounted that Prakash was heard shouting, "save me, save me" as he was being dragged away, with school staff capturing the incident on video, showing the abductors holding his hands and feet.

Later, Prakash was found approximately 9 kilometers away, lying unconscious on the roadside with critical injuries, including:

  • Severe facial injuries
  • Broken fingers
  • One nail pulled out

Passersby discovered him and alerted the police, who rushed him to a hospital in a critical state. Circle Inspector Vishnaram stated that the student had come to appear for his Political Science paper and was kidnapped from inside the school premises, bleeding heavily when found.

Immediate Response and Investigation

Following the abduction, school staff immediately informed the police, initiating a rapid response. Despite attempts by other people at the scene to intervene, they were unable to prevent the abduction. The police are now delving into the interrogation of the accused to determine the underlying reasons for this heinous act, which has raised concerns about student safety during crucial academic periods like board exams.

This incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures at educational institutions, especially during examination seasons, to protect students from such traumatic events.
