In a significant crackdown on exam malpractice, police in Ranchi arrested four persons for allegedly hacking an aspirant's computer to assist him in the central armed police force (CAPF) constable examination-2026.

Arrests and Seizures

SP Rural Gaurav Goswami confirmed that the arrested individuals include the aspirant, Mrityunjaya Kumar Yadav (20), and his accomplices Ranjit Kumar (25), Vikas Kumar (29), and Munna Raj (29). Police seized two computers, three central processing units, and a broadband device from them.

Investigation Details

Police received information on Thursday about the hacking incident at Genius Institute of Technology. During the investigation, it was found that the aspirant had restarted his computer before the examination, which is against standard procedure, indicating remote access.

The accused confessed to hacking examinees' computers to solve questions, charging between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh per candidate.
