Four Arrested in Hisar for Murder of Elderly Man and Attack on Son
In a shocking incident in Kurangawali village, Sirsa police have arrested four individuals, including two minors, for the alleged murder of an elderly man and a violent attack on his son. The arrests follow a complaint filed by Hardeep Singh, a private bus driver and son of the deceased victim, Lila.
Details of the Arrested Individuals
The adult suspects have been identified as Jagpal, a resident of Kurangawali, and Jagjit Singh from Jhorda Rohi village. Additionally, two minors have been apprehended in connection with the case. According to Anil Kumar, the SHO at Rori police station, the investigation is ongoing to uncover further details and potential accomplices.
Background of the Dispute
The tragic events stemmed from a financial disagreement. Hardeep Singh alleged in his complaint that a villager named Shambhu demanded Rs 1,000 from him. When Hardeep failed to pay the amount, it led to a dispute that escalated into violence.
Sequence of the Attack
On the night of April 4, around 10:30 PM, Shambhu, along with four to five accomplices, allegedly scaled the boundary wall and entered the family's home. At the time, Hardeep's elderly father, Lila, was sleeping in the courtyard. The accused reportedly attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in his immediate death.
Hearing the commotion, family members rushed outside. The attackers then allegedly dragged Hardeep's 24-year-old brother, Gurdeep, onto the street and assaulted him with similar weapons, leaving him with serious injuries. Gurdeep was subsequently referred to a hospital in Bathinda for urgent medical treatment.
