Four Individuals Apprehended in Noida for Alleged Murder Linked to Domestic Abuse

In a significant development in Noida, four people have been taken into custody by law enforcement authorities on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the murder of a man from Ghodi Bacheda village in Dadri. The victim, identified as Govind Rawal, was discovered deceased on an empty plot located in Shiv Vatika Colony along Kathhaira Road this past Monday.

Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigation

The body of Govind Rawal was found with multiple stab wounds concentrated near his neck area, indicating a violent assault. According to police statements, the motive behind this brutal killing was reportedly to rescue a woman from ongoing domestic abuse. It was revealed that the woman in question, Preeti Devi, who is the wife of the deceased, was involved in a romantic relationship with one of the accused individuals.

ADCP Greater Noida Sudhir Kumar provided details on how authorities managed to identify the victim. The police utilized a combination of social media outreach, extensive surveillance operations, distribution of informational pamphlets, and careful analysis of CCTV footage to establish the identity of Govind Rawal. Following this identification process, his remains were formally handed over to his grieving family members.

Arrests and Police Action

The arrests unfolded in stages as part of a coordinated police effort. Two of the primary suspects, Rohit Rawal and Nafees, were apprehended following a brief gunfight near Kot Canal. Subsequently, Govind Rawal's wife, Preeti Devi, along with another accomplice named Dharmendra, were taken into custody from Ghodi Bacheda village.

Police investigations were initiated after an FIR was officially registered on February 18 based on a complaint filed by the victim's brother. The case was documented under BNS sections 103(1), which pertains to murder, and section 238, addressing the causing disappearance of evidence or providing false information to protect offenders. This registration occurred at the Dadri police station, prompting the formation of four dedicated teams to delve into the murder case.

Unraveling the Motive and Execution of the Crime

During intensive interrogations, Rohit Rawal confessed to police investigators that he was a neighbor of Govind Rawal from the same village. He described Govind as an individual with alcohol dependency issues who frequently subjected his wife, Preeti, to physical violence and abuse. Approximately two years ago, Rohit and Preeti embarked on a romantic relationship, which intensified their desire to remove Govind from the equation due to the intolerable abusive environment.

A few days prior to the incident, Rohit and Preeti devised a plan to eliminate Govind. They enlisted the assistance of their neighbors, Nafees and Dharmendra, to carry out this scheme. On February 12, Rohit successfully lured Govind away from his home under the pretense of going out for drinks together.

The group utilized Dharmendra's motorcycle to travel to a liquor shop situated near the Chithaira petrol pump on GT Road, where they purchased several bottles of alcohol. Rohit then contacted Nafees, who joined them while armed with a knife. The three men proceeded to an empty plot in Shiv Vatika Colony, where they consumed alcohol together.

The Fatal Attack and Attempted Cover-Up

Once Govind became heavily intoxicated, Rohit seized his hand to restrain him, while Nafees launched a vicious attack using the knife, inflicting stab wounds near his neck. After the assault, they discarded the body over a boundary wall and returned to their residences.

In a subsequent attempt to conceal the crime, Rohit and Dharmendra revisited the scene on February 15 to retrieve the body and hide it more effectively. Police authorities have confirmed that further legal proceedings are currently underway as they continue to investigate all aspects of this case.

From the crime scene, law enforcement officials recovered significant evidence, including two pistols, the knife believed to have been used in the murder, multiple cartridges, and the motorcycle involved in the incident. These items have been seized for forensic analysis and will play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation and potential prosecution.
