Four Family Members Arrested in Patna Teen Murder Case

Police in Patna have made significant progress in a chilling murder case, arresting four individuals on Wednesday in connection with the killing of 16-year-old Anshu Kumar. The teenager had been reported missing from Mokama in Patna district on March 23 of this year, sparking an intensive investigation that has now uncovered a tragic and premeditated crime.

Relationship and Disappearance

According to official police statements, Anshu Kumar was involved in a relationship with a teenage girl from Modangachi village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mokama police station area. When Anshu initially went missing, the girl's family reportedly assured his relatives that he would return soon, attempting to allay concerns. However, as days passed with no sign of the boy, his family grew increasingly worried and formally lodged a missing person complaint on March 23, setting the investigative process in motion.

Pre-Planned Conspiracy Uncovered

Barh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) I Ram Krishna detailed the findings of the probe, revealing a meticulously planned conspiracy orchestrated by the girl's maternal uncle, identified as Gyan Prakash. The investigation indicates that Prakash contacted Anshu on March 20 under false pretenses, inviting him to Bakhtiyarpur with the promise of meeting the girl and discussing their potential marriage.

"Later that night, Anshu was abducted with the help of associates and taken to an isolated location in the Harnaut area of Nalanda district, where he was brutally murdered. The perpetrators then concealed the body in an attempt to destroy crucial evidence," SDPO Ram Krishna stated, outlining the grim sequence of events.

Arrests and Evidence Seized

The police have arrested four individuals in connection with the crime, all residents of Modangachi village. Those taken into custody include:

  • Vijay Kumar
  • Sanjay Das
  • The girl's father
  • The girl's mother
  • The girl's elder sister

During the investigation, authorities seized substantial evidence, including the knife believed to have been used in the murder, the vehicle allegedly employed to transport the victim, five cellphones, and Anshu's slipper. These items are expected to play a critical role in building the case against the accused.

Ongoing Investigation

Police have registered a separate murder case at the Harnaut police station to address the specific circumstances of the killing. Raids are currently underway to apprehend other absconding accused individuals linked to this tragic incident, according to SDPO Ram Krishna. The investigation continues as authorities work to ensure all those involved face justice for their roles in this premeditated crime that has shocked the local community.
