Four TCS Employees Arrested in Nashik for Harassment

Nashik: The Nashik city police have arrested four TCS employees in a case involving allegations of sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments. The four accused had already been in judicial custody in connection with earlier cases.

Investigation Details

ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke, who heads the Special Investigation Team probing all TCS-related cases under the supervision of police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, said the latest case was registered on the complaint of a male employee of the company.

Legal Provisions Invoked

The four accused have been booked under BNS sections 75 (sexual harassment), 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 302 (uttering words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings).

ACP Mitke said although the complainant in the case is a man, sexual harassment charges have been added as his wife, who was employed at the same TCS facility, was also allegedly harassed by the accused employees.

Overall Case Status

With this, a total of nine cases have been registered against eight TCS employees, including two women. Of the accused, six men face multiple cases, while the two women are named in one case each. One of the women accused is yet to be arrested.

Police said that among the four arrested in the latest case is an accused whose interim bail plea was rejected by an additional sessions court on Wednesday. The SIT continues to investigate all cases linked to the matter.
