Four Teachers Suspended Over Amarnath Yatra Registration Irregularities
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has suspended four teachers who were deployed for Amarnath Yatra duty in Ganderbal district following alleged irregularities in the on-the-spot registration process for pilgrims at the Manigam transit camp. The suspended teachers have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Aabid Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Peer Mudasir, and Gowhar Rashid Kullu.
An official communication stated that the Ganderbal district administration took cognisance of certain irregularities in connection with the registration process. “The matter is presently under investigation and appropriate action will be taken against anyone found involved,” an official said.
Authorities Advise Pilgrims on Proper Registration
The administration has clarified that on-the-spot registration for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims is available at the Baltal base camp registration centre, subject to production and verification of all prescribed documents and fulfilment of requisite eligibility criteria. All pilgrims have been advised to obtain registration only through authorised centres and to strictly follow the official procedure. Pilgrims have also been requested not to fall prey to touts, middlemen, or unauthorised persons claiming to facilitate registration or offering unauthorised assistance in return for money or other consideration.
