In a shocking incident late Wednesday night, four employees working at Choithram Mandi in Indore were stabbed by a group of men after they allegedly refused to give money for liquor. The attack occurred near the mandi gate under Rajendra Nagar police station limits, leaving two of the injured workers in a serious condition.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place near a public toilet close to the mandi gate. Police identified the victims as Arun (a resident of Raja Rani Nagar), Sunil, Ranjit, and Suraj. All four were employed at shop number 1 in Choithram Mandi.
According to police reports, the workers were returning home after unloading vehicles carrying fruits when they were confronted by more than three men sitting in the dark near the mandi gate. The accused allegedly demanded money to buy liquor. When Sunil refused, the men pulled out knives and attacked him. The other workers rushed to intervene but were also stabbed during the assault. Panic quickly spread across the mandi premises following the attack.
Police Response and Investigation
Rajendra Nagar police arrived at the scene after receiving information and immediately shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. During the preliminary investigation, police discovered that the attackers were residents of the Ahirkhedi area. They were allegedly involved in robbery and extortion activities around the mandi in the past. Authorities are now searching for the suspects, and further investigations are underway.
