Gambling Racket Busted in Dhar, 11 Arrested

A gambling racket was busted in a village in Dhar district, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals on Friday night. The operation was carried out by the Amjhera police station under the supervision of SHO Raju Makwana.

Police Action Based on Tip-Off

According to SHO Raju Makwana, the police received a credible tip-off about the illegal gambling activities. Acting swiftly, a police team raided the area near a pond located in the Krish Upaj Mandi of Dasai village on Friday night.

Arrests and Seizures

During the raid, more than a dozen people were found actively engaged in gambling. However, some of them managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The police team successfully apprehended 11 individuals, all residents of Dasai town and nearby villages. A deck of cards and Rs 10,250 in cash were recovered from the scene. The arrested persons were taken to the police station for further proceedings.

Legal Proceedings

After completing the necessary formalities, each of the accused furnished personal bonds as per legal requirements. Consequently, they were released on bail from the police station itself. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and are investigating the matter further to identify any other individuals involved in the racket.
