Four Gang Members Apprehended in Jamshedpur School Campus Raid
In a significant police operation, four members of a notorious criminal gang were arrested from a primary school campus in Gadra, located under the Pursudih police station limits in Jamshedpur on Wednesday. The arrests came after authorities received a tip-off about suspicious activities at the school ground.
Details of the Arrest and Police Action
SP (city) Kumar Shivashish reported that three gang members were actively plotting extortion and robbery schemes at the school ground when police conducted a swift raid. The individuals apprehended at the scene include Roshan Singh, also known as Paka, aged 30; Roshan Kumar, alias Bangali, 23; and Azad Pal, alias Babu, 27. Meanwhile, the gang leader, Shivnarayan Razak, 30, was arrested separately from Barigora in Pursudih.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered a country-made pistol and three live bullets from the suspects. Police stated that the gang's objective was to orchestrate multiple extortion and robbery incidents, aiming to instill terror and carve out a dominant space for themselves in the local crime world.
Criminal Backgrounds and Legal Proceedings
According to SP Shivashish, all four arrested individuals have extensive criminal records, with five to nine cases registered against each of them. Notably, Roshan Singh is an externed criminal, meaning he had been previously banned from certain areas due to his illicit activities. Following the arrests, the suspects have been sent to jail as legal proceedings continue.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by Jamshedpur police to combat organized crime and ensure public safety, particularly in sensitive locations like school campuses. The successful raid underscores the importance of community tips and proactive policing in preventing potential threats to urban security.
