Legal Proceedings and Custody Details
Following a transfer warrant, Soham Naik is currently in the custody of the crime branch. He is scheduled to be produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) in Quepem tomorrow to seek police custody in this new case. Authorities have booked him under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Goa Children’s Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Earlier on Tuesday, Naik was presented before the Goa children’s court, where he was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody after completing four days of police custody. The court has permitted further questioning as the crime branch continues its intensive probe into the multiple FIRs filed against him.
