Goa Police File Case in Chimbel Flyover Hit-and-Run Incident
In a serious road incident, the Old Goa police have officially registered a case against a resident of Santa Cruz, Goa, in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred on the Chimbel flyover last Tuesday. The collision resulted in injuries to a couple from Karnataka, who were traveling in their vehicle at the time.

The police report indicates that the accused, identified as Jolly Ninan, was driving his SUV from Panaji towards Old Goa. According to the FIR, Ninan was operating his vehicle without taking proper care and caution. While on the Chimbel flyover, he suddenly changed lanes at a very high speed.
This reckless maneuver caused his SUV to collide with another SUV in which the couple from Bengaluru, Karnataka, were traveling. The impact of the crash was severe, forcing the victims' vehicle to hit the divider and then ram into an electricity pole. The car spun three times before coming to a stop, leaving both occupants, Anil Kumar and S Preethi, with injuries.
