Goa Police's Prism Intelligence Center Successfully Traces 18 Missing Persons in Intensive Two-Week Operation
In a significant achievement for law enforcement, the Goa Police have successfully traced 18 missing persons over the past two weeks through the advanced intelligence fusion center known as Prism, operating out of the crime branch. Police officials confirmed that the majority of these disappearances were voluntary in nature, stemming from domestic, matrimonial, or personal issues, with no indications of abduction or criminal involvement.
Proactive Intelligence-Led Monitoring Yields Rapid Results
Senior Police Officer Rahul Gupta from the crime branch detailed that Prism employs a sophisticated system of intelligence-led monitoring and structured analytical review of all missing person reports (MPRs) filed across the state. "Following the tracing of five cases during the previous week, Prism's focused intervention resulted in the successful tracing and resolution of 10 additional missing person cases during the second week," Gupta stated, emphasizing that this brought the total to 18 persons traced and reunited with their families.
Detailed Case Studies Highlight Prism's Effectiveness
One notable case involved a father reporting his 22-year-old daughter missing at the Ponda police station. Prism conducted a thorough analysis and initiated sustained efforts to contact her using available data. "Upon successfully establishing contact, it was ascertained that she was in Uttar Pradesh. Prism verified the information through follow-up coordination and facilitated her safe return to Goa," Gupta explained.
In another instance at the Curchorem police station, a woman filed a complaint about her 48-year-old husband and daughter. Through structured analysis, Prism established contact via video call, where the man informed officials that he had left the state with his daughter for employment opportunities due to ongoing matrimonial disputes. "Prism counselled the parties and facilitated resolution. The details were shared with Curchorem police station for closure of the case as traced," Gupta added.
Enhanced Coordination and Public Confidence
Gupta highlighted that these results underscore Prism's proactive intelligence-led approach, sustained scrutiny, and direct intervention capabilities in tracing missing persons. With 18 individuals now safely reunited with their families, Prism has not only strengthened monitoring mechanisms but also improved coordination with local police stations and reinforced public confidence in law enforcement efforts.
