 
In a shocking incident that has raised serious questions about security at one of India's holiest sites, a 32-year-old man from Gujarat was apprehended for allegedly sexually harassing a woman devotee inside the sacred Jagannath Temple in Puri.

According to police reports, the accused, identified as Rajesh Kanti from Gujarat, allegedly targeted the woman while she was offering prayers within the temple premises on Tuesday. The incident occurred in the crowded temple complex, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites that attracts millions of devotees annually.

Temple security personnel and local police acted promptly after the victim raised an alarm. The accused was immediately detained from the spot and later formally arrested following the woman's complaint.
"We have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and taken the accused into custody," confirmed a senior police officer from Puri. "The investigation is ongoing, and we're ensuring the victim receives all necessary support."
