Major Gujarat Police Operation Nets Rs 5.09 Crore in Illegal Liquor and Vehicles
In a significant crackdown on illicit liquor trade, the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police conducted a targeted raid at Vadvala village in Kutch district on Friday. The operation resulted in the seizure of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and vehicles with a combined value exceeding Rs 5.09 crore, marking a substantial blow to bootlegging activities in the region.

During the raid, officials confiscated a massive haul of 56,088 bottles of IMFL, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 4 crore. Additionally, six vehicles were seized, including two trucks, three mini trucks, and one pickup van, which contributed to the overall seizure value. Two individuals were apprehended in connection with the case: Jasram Bharwad, a resident of Rapar, and Vishal Karamakam from Meghpar. Both were subsequently handed over to the Paddhar police for further legal proceedings.
Wanted Accused and Key Figures in the Case
Police have declared 23 persons wanted in this high-profile case, highlighting the scale of the illicit network. Among the prominent names listed are known bootleggers Navjoyot alias Navghan Maraj, Anopsinh Rathod, and Devendra alias Devo Kapdi, who are identified as receivers of the consignments. Mustafa alias Rahul alias Mahakal Pathan, a resident of Mewat in Haryana, has been pinpointed as the primary supplier in this operation. Furthermore, five servants associated with Maraj are also included in the list of wanted accused, indicating a broader involvement in the illegal activities.
