In a shocking incident in the first week of May, two employees of a Gujarat-based trader were kidnapped by a gang of six armed men in Kolkata. The victims were robbed of Rs 42 lakh and later abandoned on the Kona Expressway.

The complainant, Kamlesh Rajnikant Shah, a 63-year-old resident of Gandhinagar, arrived in Kolkata on Monday to report the crime at the Survey Park police station. According to police, the suspects, who are based in Kolkata, contacted Shah under the guise of being businessmen. They negotiated a deal to dispatch goods to Gujarat, asserting that the consignment would be shipped upon a payment of Rs 42 lakh.
Sequence of Events
After receiving the money, the suspects forced the employees into a car at gunpoint. They later pushed the victims out of the moving vehicle along the Kona Expressway, leaving them stranded. The employees managed to seek help and inform their employer.
