In a disturbing incident that unfolded on Tuesday night, gunshots were fired outside a residential property in the Adarsh Nagar area of northwest Delhi. The local police received a PCR call at precisely 10:05 pm alerting them to the alarming situation.
Complainant Details the Terrifying Sequence of Events
A 42-year-old woman, who filed the official complaint, recounted the harrowing events to authorities. She stated that around 9:45 pm, a 22-year-old man identified as Bedu arrived outside her home. According to her account, Bedu had an ongoing dispute with her son.
The woman reported that the suspect fired a single round into the air before swiftly fleeing the scene, managing to escape before police personnel could arrive at the location. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, which could have had far more serious consequences.
Legal Action and Ongoing Police Investigation
Law enforcement authorities have taken immediate legal action by registering a formal case under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with acts endangering the life or personal safety of others. Police officials have confirmed that further investigation into the matter is actively underway.
Revealing Criminal Backgrounds of Those Involved
During their preliminary investigation, police uncovered significant criminal histories associated with both parties involved in the dispute. The complainant's son was revealed to be an accused in a theft case registered earlier in 2024. Meanwhile, the suspect Bedu was allegedly involved in a separate case of attempt to murder that dates back to 2022.
