A 36-year-old man who was critically injured in a Haryana Roadways bus accident in Gurgaon last week passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when a trainee driver allegedly took the bus for a joyride without informing his instructor and struck several individuals near Sector 10. The trainee driver is still evading arrest.
Details of the Accident
The accident claimed the life of a 56-year-old factory worker from Madhya Pradesh at the scene. Kishun Dev Singh, a native of Bihar, sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, according to police officials. The trainee driver fled the location immediately after the crash.
Legal Action and Investigation
A case has been registered against the absconding trainee driver. Preliminary investigations revealed that the bus instructors were on a lunch break when the trainee surreptitiously took the bus without authorization. Police have formed multiple teams to apprehend the accused, as confirmed by a senior officer.
The authorities are also examining CCTV footage and gathering witness statements to piece together the sequence of events. The Haryana Roadways department has been asked to review its training protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
