Gurgaon Police Take Strict Action Against BYOB Louges for Noise Violations

In a decisive move to curb noise pollution, Gurgaon police have cracked down on two BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) lounge clubs in the city. The establishments were found playing DJ music at excessively high volumes late into the night without the necessary permissions, causing significant disturbance to nearby residents.

Night Patrol Uncovers Violations

The enforcement action followed a targeted night patrol conducted on April 18, led by ACP (Badshahpur) Yashwant Yadav. Police teams received specific inputs about loud music being played beyond permissible hours and promptly investigated multiple locations across the city.

During the inspections, violations were identified at two prominent BYOB clubs located in Sectors 61 and 58. At Don Jon BYOB & Lounge Club in Sector 61, authorities discovered DJ music blaring after 10 pm, with the operator, Rajat Gupta, a resident of Shalimar Bagh in Delhi, unable to produce any valid licence for the loud music.

Similarly, at Where Else BYOB & Lounge Club in Sector 58, police found DJ music being played at high volume late at night. The operator, Anuj Mehndiratta, a resident of South City-2 in Gurgaon, also failed to provide any licence or approval for the activity.

Seizure of Equipment and Legal Proceedings

As part of the crackdown, police seized three music systems and four speakers from the two locations. Cases have been formally initiated against both operators under relevant provisions of the Environment Protection Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS).

Officials have stated that the matter will be forwarded to the SDM office for further legal proceedings. In a stern warning, police urged all establishments to strictly comply with noise pollution norms, emphasizing that violations will result in strict action.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Gurgaon authorities to enforce environmental regulations and maintain public order, particularly in residential areas affected by late-night disturbances.
