Hamirpur Gang-Rape Case: 14-Year-Old Victim Rescued, One Accused in Custody
A shocking case of kidnapping and gang-rape involving a 14-year-old minor girl has emerged from Maudaha Kotwali village in Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident came to light after the victim's father filed a formal police complaint on Friday, leading to immediate action by law enforcement authorities.
Details of the Alleged Crime
According to the official complaint registered with Maudaha Police, the teenage girl was reportedly heading from her home toward agricultural fields during the afternoon hours when two local youths from the same village allegedly intercepted her. The accused individuals, identified as Jagdish and Sunil, are said to have forcibly taken the minor to an isolated location where the heinous crime occurred.
Family members conducted extensive searches throughout the area when the girl failed to return home, but their efforts proved unsuccessful. It was only after the father approached Kotwali police station on Friday that formal proceedings began. The distraught parent specifically named Jagdish and Sunil in his complaint, accusing them of both kidnapping and gang-raping his daughter.
Police Response and Investigation
Maudaha Police acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint, successfully rescuing the minor victim. Based on the written complaint submitted by the father, authorities registered a First Information Report (FIR) against both named accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which carries stringent penalties for crimes against minors.
During subsequent investigative raids, police managed to apprehend one of the accused individuals. The arrested suspect is currently undergoing intensive interrogation as investigators seek to gather crucial evidence and establish the complete sequence of events. However, the second accused, Sunil, remains at large despite ongoing search operations.
Official Statements and Medical Procedures
Maudaha Circle Officer Rajkumar Pandey confirmed that immediate action was taken as soon as information about the incident reached police authorities. "A case was registered promptly upon receiving information about this serious incident," stated CO Pandey. "Our teams are working diligently to ensure justice is served."
The minor victim has been transported to the district hospital for comprehensive medical examination, with official reports currently awaited. Police have confirmed that the girl's statement will be formally recorded before a magistrate to ensure proper legal documentation of the traumatic events.
Regarding the ongoing manhunt for the second suspect, CO Pandey added, "Police teams are conducting raids not only within the district but also in neighboring areas. We are confident that the second accused will be apprehended shortly." The investigation continues as authorities work to build a strong case against both individuals involved in this disturbing crime against a minor.
