Chandigarh: Days after the Punjab government announced free bus travel for NEET aspirants, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday extended a similar facility in the state. NEET candidates will be allowed to travel free of cost in Haryana Roadways buses on June 20 and 21. The NEET exam is scheduled for June 21.
Announcing the move, Saini said the government is committed to supporting students and ensuring hassle-free access to examination centres. Aspirants will be eligible for free travel on producing their admit cards. The initiative aims to ease travel-related stress and inconvenience for students on exam days, he said.
Saini added that the state had earlier provided a similar facility to candidates appearing for the Common Eligibility Test (CET), and the same support is now being extended to NEET aspirants. The chief minister also wished students success in the examination, urging them to appear with confidence and dedication.
This decision comes as a relief for thousands of students across Haryana who will be appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical and dental courses. The free bus service is expected to benefit aspirants from rural and remote areas, ensuring they reach their exam centres without any financial burden.
The Haryana government's move mirrors the initiative taken by the neighbouring Punjab government, which announced free bus travel for NEET aspirants earlier this week. Both states aim to reduce the logistical challenges faced by students during the crucial examination period.
Students have welcomed the announcement, with many taking to social media to express their gratitude. The free travel facility will be available on all Haryana Roadways buses, including ordinary and semi-deluxe services. Aspirants are advised to carry their admit cards and a valid ID proof while travelling.
