Manager killed after dispute over Rs 130 toll fee

The manager of the Baddo-Patti toll plaza on the Hisar-Chandigarh highway near Barwala town in Hisar district was allegedly struck and run over by individuals traveling in a Scorpio vehicle on Monday night. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over a toll payment of Rs 130.

According to sources, the toll plaza manager requested the youths, who are from a nearby village, to present a local identification document to waive the fee. After the youths showed their IDs, the manager then asked for the vehicle's registration certificate, which triggered an argument.

Escalation and fatal outcome

As the situation intensified, the youths allegedly drove the vehicle toward the manager, hitting him. After he fell onto the road, the Scorpio driver reportedly drove over him. The accused then fled the scene. Police recovered a pistol from the location, though it remains unclear whether any shots were fired.

Barwala police station SHO Dalbir Singh Punia arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation after registering a case. The police are searching for the suspects, who are believed to be from a nearby village.
