Haveri Police Implement Traffic Diversions for Government Assembly Security

Ahead of the government assembly scheduled for February 14 in Haveri, police authorities have announced significant alterations to road routes to ensure smooth traffic movement and enhance security measures. Superintendent of Police Yashoda Vantagodi addressed the public during a press conference on Wednesday, urging cooperation and strict adherence to the revised traffic plans.

Revised Traffic Routes and Restrictions

In a bid to manage the anticipated influx of vehicles and maintain order, private vehicles are prohibited from using the route between Shibar Circle in Devagiri village and the cross near Dundi Basaveshwara Temple via the Devagiri Yellapur route. SP Vantagodi emphasized that this restriction is crucial for preventing congestion and ensuring safety during the assembly.

For commuters travelling between Haveri and Devagiri, alternative routes have been designated. The public is advised to take the Karjagi route or utilize the bridge on Kaginele Road or Hanagal Road to access the national highway. From there, they can proceed towards Devagiri via the Devihosur cross, as per the police instructions.

Extensive Security Deployment for Law and Order

To bolster security for the assembly, a comprehensive force has been deployed, including:

  • 2 Superintendents of Police (SPs)
  • 6 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs)
  • 21 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs)
  • 72 Circle Police Inspectors (CPIs)
  • 162 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs)
  • 220 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs)
  • 1,790 Head Constables and Police Constables (HC-PCs)
  • 500 Home Guards (HIs)
  • 13 District Armed Reserves (DARs)
  • 12 Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRPs)
  • 12 Armed Special Constables (ASCs)
  • 3 Quick Response Teams (QRTs)

This deployment aims to maintain strict law and order, with personnel stationed at key points to monitor and manage the event.

Enhanced Surveillance and Precautionary Measures

Further strengthening security protocols, CCTV surveillance systems have been installed at all designated parking locations for the assembly. A control room and command centre have been established to coordinate operations and respond swiftly to any incidents. SP Vantagodi highlighted that these precautionary measures are in place to prevent untoward events and ensure a secure environment for all attendees.

The police have reiterated their call for public cooperation, stressing that following the revised routes and adhering to security guidelines will contribute to a successful and incident-free assembly. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed to facilitate smooth traffic flow and public safety.
