Headless Body of Missing Woman Discovered in Madhepura Village

In a shocking development, police in Madhepura district recovered the headless body of a woman from Madhukarchak village under the Behariganj police station area on Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Rinku Devi, a 45-year-old resident of Balia in neighboring Purnia district.

Family's Desperate Search Ends in Tragedy

Subham Kumar, the victim's son, revealed that his mother had left their home on February 3 to visit her maternal village but disappeared during the journey. "We made extensive efforts to trace her," Subham stated, describing how family members searched extensively before finally lodging a missing person report with local police authorities.

The grieving son pointed directly at his cousin Niwas Singh as being involved in the incident. According to Subham, there had been a serious dispute between his uncle Kamlesh Singh, Niwas Singh, and his mother approximately two months prior to her disappearance. This conflict had escalated into a physical scuffle, creating tension within the family.

Police Investigation Uncovers Disturbing Confession

Balia Station House Officer Ramlal Bharti provided crucial details about the investigation. Police had already arrested Niwas Singh on February 16 in connection with an unrelated ATM fraud case. During subsequent interrogation, the accused made a startling confession regarding Rinku Devi's disappearance.

"During the course of interrogation by police, Niwas confessed to his involvement in the murder and to dumping the body at the location," SHO Bharti confirmed. Acting on the information provided by the accused, law enforcement officials recovered the torso from the spot where the headless body was discovered.

The investigation continues as police work to gather additional evidence and determine the complete circumstances surrounding this tragic incident in rural Bihar.
