Hisar Court Gives 10-Year Jail for Assaulting Minor Girl

A local court in Hisar has sentenced a Barwala man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor girl after threatening to make her morphed photos viral. The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Jindal, who also ordered an additional six months of imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine.

The next day, the father found her in Sector 13. Upon questioning, the girl confided in her family that the accused, identified as Sanjay, had taken morphed obscene photos of her and threatened to circulate them online. Luring her with this threat, he took her to a shop and sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Legal Proceedings

The court, after examining the evidence and hearing arguments, found the accused guilty under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The judge emphasized the severity of the crime, noting that the accused exploited the minor's fear and vulnerability. The fine of Rs 50,000 is to be paid to the victim as compensation.
