A tragic incident occurred at a resort in Virar on Sunday afternoon, where a 7-year-old boy drowned. Despite immediate efforts by lifeguards to rescue him, he was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The Arnala coastal police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, 70-year-old Ramlal Yadav, a resident of Mumbai, had visited the resort on Sunday along with his grandchildren and a few children from the neighborhood. While at the resort, Yadav reportedly went after one of his grandchildren, leaving the other children unattended. During this brief period, the 7-year-old boy entered the water and tragically drowned.
Police Investigation
The police confirmed that no other family member accompanied Yadav to the resort. Authorities also noted that similar drowning incidents have been reported in the area previously, and such cases have been on the rise. The Arnala coastal police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine if any negligence was involved.
