Hisar Poisoning Tragedy Escalates into Major Gang Rape Investigation
What began as a distressing report of a young couple found poisoned in a vehicle has transformed into a severe criminal inquiry in Hisar, Haryana. The Barwala police have officially charged four individuals with serious offences, including gang rape, following the death of a 19-year-old woman.
From Medical Emergency to Criminal Case
The incident unfolded on Monday near Sarasaud village along the Hisar-Chandigarh Road. Authorities discovered a 19-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man from Gurana village in a car under what were described as suspicious circumstances. The man managed to contact a friend for assistance, prompting their rushed transportation to medical facilities.
Tragically, the young woman passed away at a private hospital in Hisar. The male victim, who was admitted to Agroha Medical College, succumbed to his condition on Tuesday. Initially treated as a possible suicide or accidental poisoning, the case took a drastic turn with the intervention of the woman's father.
Father's Allegations Spark Investigation
The investigation pivoted dramatically after the grieving father provided a detailed statement to police officials. He asserted that his daughter had left their home to attend her nursing institute in Barwala when she was allegedly abducted by a youth identified as Sumit, accompanied by three other individuals.
According to the father's account, his daughter contacted him around 3:30 PM, revealing that she had been given a drink mixed with alcohol. The call abruptly ended, leaving him concerned. Later, he received another communication informing him that his daughter had consumed poison.
The father has made grave allegations, claiming the accused individuals gang-raped his daughter and, as her health deteriorated, forcibly administered poison to her. These accusations have fundamentally altered the nature of the police inquiry.
Police Action and Forensic Examination
In response to these serious allegations, the Barwala police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the four accused men. Notably, one of those charged is the deceased male, Sumit, along with three of his associates.
Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Seema confirmed that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness. "We have collected crucial swab samples for forensic analysis," SI Seema stated. "These samples have been dispatched for comprehensive testing, and our investigation is actively progressing to uncover the full truth behind this tragic incident."
The police are meticulously examining all evidence and statements to build a robust case. The transformation from a suspected poisoning case to a potential gang rape and murder investigation underscores the complex and evolving nature of criminal inquiries in sensitive matters.
This case has highlighted critical issues regarding women's safety and the importance of thorough police investigations in Haryana. The community awaits further developments as forensic results may provide essential insights into the events leading to the two deaths.
