Hisar Traders Protest Over Sonia Murder Case, ₹50K Bounty Announced

Hisar: An alleged wife-slayer believed to be hiding in Delhi or a pilgrimage centre now carries a bounty of ₹50,000, as traders took to the streets with black banners over the stalled Sonia murder case.

The Civil Lines police announced the cash reward on Monday for any input leading to the arrest of Saurabh Anand, who has been on the run since the crime occurred in Hisar's Sector 13. Authorities suspect he may be hiding in Delhi or Uttarakhand's Haridwar. Superintendent of police Siddhant Jain directed the bounty announcement.

The case was registered on May 1 under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 103(1) and 3(5). The Hisar police have urged the public to pass on any secret information to the Civil Lines station house officer at 8814011307 or the district police control room at 01662-237150.

Trader Protest Erupts Over Delay

Meanwhile, anger over the delay in the accused's arrest spilled onto the streets as traders in Hisar protested in the Auto Market under the leadership of Haryana Pradesh Vyapar Mandal state president and former Haryana Confed chairman Bajrang Garg. They put up black banners and raised slogans against the police administration.

Addressing the gathering, Garg said the fact that the accused remained at large even after 18 days of the crime proved the collective failure of the police and the government. He claimed that public anger was growing rapidly over the delay in action.
