History-sheeter held for Kaapa order violation

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvallom police on Saturday arrested a history-sheeter for allegedly violating a preventive detention order issued under the Kaapa Act (KAAPA) in the capital city.

Arrest Details

The accused, identified as Vineeth alias ‘Pepper Vineeth’ (24) of Thiruvallom, was taken into custody from near the temple premises at Thiruvallom on Thursday. Police said he was banned from entering the limits of Thiruvananthapuram city police commissionerate for six months until May 11, 2026, following repeated involvement in criminal activities.

Background of the Accused

According to police, the accused continued to engage in criminal offences, ignored repeated police warnings, and created law and order issues in the area. Based on confidential information received by city police commissioner K Karthick, police launched a search operation as part of ‘Operation Dark Hunt’.

Violation and Arrest

During the inspection, police found that Vineeth unlawfully entered city limits in violation of Kaapa order. He was immediately detained and formally arrested. Police said the accused is involved in around six criminal cases, including narcotics and assault cases, registered at Thiruvallom and Nemom police stations.
