History-Sheeter Rajesh Arrested in Thiruvananthapuram After Surrendering to Police
In a significant development in Thiruvananthapuram, the Sreekaryam police on Thursday arrested a notorious history-sheeter, Rajesh, widely known as 'Puthenpalam Rajesh', who had been absconding from authorities. According to official sources, Rajesh, a resident of Vanchiyoor, initially surrendered himself before the Petta police station. Following this, he was promptly handed over to the Sreekaryam police, who took him into formal custody.
Background of the Criminal Case
His arrest comes just days after a stringent order was issued against him under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, specifically Sections 3(1) read with 13(2)(1), on Monday. This legal action was taken in response to his continued and persistent involvement in various criminal activities, which have been a growing concern for law enforcement.
Police officials have revealed that Rajesh is a repeat offender with an extensive criminal record. Approximately 50 cases have been registered against him across multiple police stations within the city limits of Thiruvananthapuram. Despite previous interventions and legal measures, he allegedly continued to engage in unlawful behavior, posing a severe threat to public safety and disrupting the normal life of residents in several neighborhoods.
Police Efforts and Public Alert
Following the issuance of the Kaapa order, the police intensified their efforts to locate and apprehend Rajesh. A public alert was even issued, urging citizens to provide any information regarding his whereabouts. This proactive approach highlights the seriousness with which authorities are addressing the menace of habitual offenders in the region.
The arrest underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in dealing with individuals who repeatedly violate the law. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation in maintaining public order and safety.
