A 54-year-old homemaker from Satellite has filed a complaint at Karanj police station in Ahmedabad, alleging she and her daughter were assaulted by the occupants of an SUV following a minor traffic dispute near Pankor Naka on Wednesday night.
Incident Details
The complaint states that the woman and her daughter were returning home on a scooter after shopping when, around 8:30 pm, their vehicle was allegedly brushed by a four-wheeler near the Pankor Naka crossroads. The woman alleged that when she knocked on the driver's window to inform him about the incident, a man inside the SUV slapped her daughter. She immediately called the police helpline. An argument ensued with the occupants of the SUV, during which she was allegedly slapped and punched.
Injuries and Legal Action
The woman later sought treatment at Sola Civil Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a nasal fracture. Based on her complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections for causing grievous hurt and have launched an investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects.
This incident highlights the escalation of road rage in urban areas. Police urge citizens to remain calm during traffic disputes and report any untoward incidents to the nearest police station or helpline.
