Honey Trap Robbery in Delhi: Four Arrested

New Delhi: Days after a 72-year-old chartered accountant was allegedly honey-trapped, abducted, assaulted, and robbed at his Sainik Farms residence in south Delhi, police have arrested four accused in the case. According to police, the man was lured and targeted through a planned honey trap orchestrated by a woman and her accomplices.

Incident Details

The incident came to light after a PCR call regarding an abduction was received on May 3 from Anupam Garden in Sainik Farms. Police said the man was alone at his residence around 7:45 pm on May 2 when he believed the woman, known to him, arrived for a planned meeting. As she entered the house, however, her accomplices allegedly barged in, overpowered the elderly man, and robbed him.

The accused looted Rs 5 lakh cash from an almirah, another Rs 8,000-10,000 from a drawer, a purse containing cash, three gold rings, and important documents, including his Aadhaar card, driving licence, and a credit card.

Abduction and Extortion Attempt

Police said the accused then forced him into his own car and drove towards Meerut for nearly one to one-and-a-half hours. During the journey, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh and forced him to contact an acquaintance to arrange Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of an accident. When the extortion attempt failed, the accused abandoned him along with the vehicle near the Delhi-Mumbai Highway and fled. The victim later managed to reach a nearby dhaba and informed police.

Police Investigation and Arrests

A case was registered at Neb Sarai police station under sections of BNS, and multiple teams were formed to crack the case.
