Hyderabad: Four-Year-Old Girl Found Brutally Murdered at Construction Site
A horrific crime has shaken Hyderabad, where a four-year-old girl who went missing on Sunday afternoon was discovered bludgeoned to death after allegedly being raped. The tragic incident occurred at a construction site in Narsingi, with police arresting a construction worker who was the last person seen with the young victim.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to police reports, the accused worker is suspected of luring the little girl away from her tenement by offering her chocolates. He then allegedly took her to a secluded spot where he raped her before brutally bludgeoning her to death with a rock. The girl's parents, who work as labourers at the same construction site, first noticed their daughter was missing on Sunday afternoon and immediately alerted the site manager.
The Search and Discovery
The construction company manager initiated a search for the missing girl. After several hours, a boy reported seeing the child with a man who was also employed at the construction site. Family members and fellow workers rushed to the suspect's tenement, finding the door locked from inside.
"The man did not respond to repeated knocks. He opened the door only after half an hour, and was visibly drunk. He denied any knowledge of the missing girl," a family member recounted. The suspect was reportedly roughed up by angry workers before police intervention.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Narsingi police registered a case around 8 pm based on a complaint from the girl's family. CCTV footage subsequently showed the accused leading the girl away from the labour camp, prompting police to take him into custody immediately. During interrogation, the man confessed to raping and killing the young victim.
"The girl's body was found in an isolated place nearby. She was found dead with a deep injury to her head. The rock used by the killer was also found at the spot," police officials stated, adding that the accused had first strangled the girl before bludgeoning her with the rock.
Legal Action and Background
Police have arrested the construction worker and charged him under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victim's family hails from Jharkhand and had moved to Hyderabad just four months ago in search of employment opportunities, adding another layer of tragedy to this devastating case.
The incident has highlighted concerns about safety at construction sites and the vulnerability of migrant worker families. Hyderabad police have assured thorough investigation and appropriate legal action against the accused.
