A tragic incident has cut short the lives of a young married couple from Hyderabad, who died after falling from a moving train in Telangana's Yadadri-Bhongir district. The heartbreaking event occurred late on Thursday, sending shockwaves through their community and prompting an investigation by railway authorities.
The Fatal Journey
According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the couple was traveling on the Bidar–Machilipatnam train. They had boarded the train on Thursday to visit relatives in Vijayawada. The deceased have been identified as Simhachalam (25) and his wife Bhavani (18). Disturbingly, their marriage had taken place just four months prior to the accident, marking a devastating end to their new life together.
How the Tragedy Unfolded
Police reports indicate that the couple was last seen standing near the door of their compartment while the train was in motion. The incident happened as the train passed through the Yadadri section. "While the train was passing through the Yadadri section, they mysteriously fell from the moving train," stated the GRP Nalgonda sub-inspector handling the case.
The grim discovery was made on Friday morning. A railway gangman, performing his duties along the tracks, spotted two bodies and immediately alerted the police. The couple were residents of Jagathgirigutta in Hyderabad.
Ongoing Investigation and Safety Concerns
The Government Railway Police have launched a full investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the couple's fall. Key questions remain unanswered, focusing on whether it was a tragic accident or if other factors were involved. This incident has once again highlighted the critical safety risks associated with standing near train doors during travel, a common but dangerous practice.
The loss of Simhachalam and Bhavani serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and underscores the urgent need for heightened passenger awareness and safety measures on India's railways.
