Hyderabad man booked under POCSO for assaulting partner's daughter

A 34-year-old man has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting his live-in partner's teenage daughter in Hyderabad. According to police, the accused had been living with a 33-year-old woman for the past five years. The woman, estranged from her husband, resided there with her minor daughter.

Details of the Case

Police said the accused befriended the woman and later moved in with her. The girl, who lived with them, was allegedly targeted by the accused whenever her mother was away. Police said he repeatedly assaulted the minor over a period of time. The matter came to light when the girl confided in her mother, who immediately lodged a complaint with Alwal police on Wednesday. Based on her statement, a case was registered under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

Arrest and Investigation

Officials confirmed that the accused has been booked and an investigation is underway. The accused has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police are currently investigating the matter further to gather more evidence and ensure justice for the victim.
