Hyderabad Police Crack Garment Store Theft Case, Arrest Housekeeping Employee
In a swift operation, Hyderabad police have successfully solved a significant theft case involving Rs 2.4 lakh stolen from a garments store located on Road No 12 in the upscale Banjara Hills area. The authorities have arrested a housekeeping worker in connection with the crime, bringing a quick resolution to the incident that has drawn attention due to the store's ownership.
Details of the Theft and Investigation
The garments store is operated by Kunduru Bhavani Anushri, who is notably the daughter-in-law of senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy. According to the official complaint filed with the police, the theft was discovered on the morning of February 7th. Store manager Anil had meticulously counted the day's sales revenue on the evening of February 6th and securely placed the cash amounting to Rs 2.4 lakh in a locker. The plan was to deposit the money in the bank the following morning as part of routine financial management.
However, when staff members opened the outlet at 11:30 AM on February 7th, they were shocked to find the money missing from the locker. Immediate suspicion fell upon Aminul Hoque, a housekeeping employee who had failed to report for duty that day and had switched off his mobile phone, making him unreachable. Based on the detailed complaint provided by the store management, the police promptly registered a case of theft under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, initiating a thorough investigation.
Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Funds
Leading the investigation, Inspector S Suhasan stated that the police team quickly traced and arrested Aminul Hoque, who is a native of Assam. During the interrogation and subsequent search, law enforcement officials managed to recover the majority of the stolen amount. Police successfully retrieved Rs 2.35 lakh, with only about Rs 5,000 already spent by the accused and thus unrecoverable. Following the arrest and recovery process, Aminul Hoque was later released on station bail as per legal procedures, pending further judicial proceedings.
This case highlights the effectiveness of Hyderabad police in responding to financial crimes in commercial establishments. The involvement of a political figure's family member adds a layer of public interest, though police have emphasized that the investigation focused solely on the criminal aspects of the theft. The quick resolution serves as a reminder to businesses to enhance their security measures, especially regarding cash handling and employee monitoring.
