Sub-divisional police officer Ashok Priyadarshi of Godda explained that the Pathargama police station received an urgent call from Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, aged 52, reporting an alleged trespassing incident at his residence in Rampur village. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Neeraj Kumar tied up and suffering from severe injuries. He was immediately transported to the community health centre in Pathargama, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds shortly after arrival.

During the subsequent investigation, police uncovered that Neeraj Kumar had been involved in a romantic relationship with his aunt, Pinki Devi, who is 40 years old and the wife of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
