Vishat Kumar presented himself at the Peace Bridge border crossing connecting Buffalo, New York to Canada with completely fabricated identification documents. The fugitive had assumed a new identity with both a fake name and date of birth in his attempt to evade detection by authorities.
Border officials revealed that Kumar initially passed the primary inspection process, raising no immediate red flags with his counterfeit documentation. However, his luck ran out during the mandatory secondary inspection, where biometric verification systems identified discrepancies that exposed his true identity.

Investigators discovered that Indian authorities had already issued an Interpol red notice for Vishat Kumar after he fled India following the murder charges.
