Jaipur Security Guard Arrested for Brutal Murder and Financial Fraud
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the Pink City, a 27-year-old security guard has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 51-year-old colleague in Jaipur and then committing financial fraud using the victim's biometric data. According to police officials, the accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar Yadav alias Kanhaiya, a native of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, worked alongside the victim, Pramod, also from Mainpuri, at a parking facility in Galta Gate. The incident occurred in a guard room at Jain Nasiya parking in Basbadanpura around 4 am on Monday. While Pramod was asleep, Yadav allegedly attacked him with a stone, smashing his head and killing him on the spot.
The motive behind the murder was a grudge stemming from Pramod's refusal to lend Yadav Rs 2,000. DCP (North) Karan Sharma stated that Yadav was addicted to online cricket betting and had recently lost approximately Rs 5,000. Desperate to repay these losses, he approached Pramod for a loan, knowing the victim had money in his account because he often assisted him with online banking transactions. When Pramod declined, it triggered the fatal assault.
Post-Murder Financial Fraud and Investigation
In a disturbing twist, after committing the murder, Yadav used the victim's thumb impression to unlock his phone. He then transferred Rs 29,000 from Pramod's bank account to his own using an online payment app. To mislead investigators, Yadav stayed close to the investigation, moving around with police personnel and tracking developments, hoping to evade detection.
The case was cracked when investigators discovered that money had been transferred from Pramod's account after his death. Police traced the beneficiary account to Yadav, leading to his arrest.
