Illegal Madrassa Demolished in Jaisalmer Border Area Under Operation Clean
Jaisalmer: Illegal Madrassa Demolished Near Border

Jaisalmer: Police and administrative officials on Wednesday demolished an under-construction madrassa in the Kalron Ki Dhani area under the Nachna police station limits in Jaisalmer district. The structure was located approximately 15 kilometers from the international border.

Operation Clean Targets Illegal Structures

Officials stated that the unauthorized construction was identified in the border village of Bahla, prompting the administration to remove the structure using JCB machines. Adequate security arrangements were made during the demolition to ensure safety.

SP Abhishek Shivhare said that illegal construction activity in the border belt is being removed through joint action by the administration and police under Operation Clean, which is being carried out on the directions of the Union government. He added that a detailed survey is underway to identify illegal constructions, encroachments, and suspicious activities within a 50-kilometer radius of the international border.

Survey of Border Villages

District collector Anupama Jorwal said authorities are examining unauthorized and suspicious permanent constructions in 102 villages and hamlets located near the border. A detailed report will be submitted to the Union Home Ministry after the completion of the survey. Jorwal further said the campaign is being carried out with heightened vigilance to curb illegal settlements, encroachments, smuggling, and other security-related concerns in the border region. “No illegal construction or encroachment will be tolerated,” she said.

Previous Actions in Ramgarh-Tanot

Last week, the administration similarly removed an illegal encroachment on government land in the Ramgarh-Tanot border area using bulldozers. This action is part of a broader effort to secure the border region.
