Ahead of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, the district police in Jaisalmer have proactively launched a comprehensive drone awareness campaign aimed at residents of border villages. This initiative is designed to educate and alert villagers about potential threats and drone activities originating from across the international border.
Vigilance and Reporting Mechanisms Enhanced
As part of the campaign, villagers are being instructed to immediately inform the nearest police station or Border Security Force (BSF) post if they spot any suspicious objects or drone-like flying optical objects in the border areas. This step is crucial for maintaining security and preventing any untoward incidents during the festive period.
Strict Security Measures in Place
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare emphasized that a strict vigil is being maintained across all border regions, with particular focus on tent resorts in Sam. In addition to regular police patrolling, random checks are being conducted to ensure thorough surveillance. Shivhare highlighted the development of a robust human intelligence network and continuous coordination with various security and intelligence agencies, including the BSF and army.
Joint Efforts and Hinterland Patrolling
The police are actively engaged in joint hinterland patrolling with the BSF to bolster security measures. In preparation for Republic Day, all station officers in the district have been directed to conduct blockades in their respective areas, further tightening the security apparatus. This multi-agency approach aims to create a secure environment and deter any potential threats from across the border.
