Multiple Jalandhar Schools Targeted by Bomb Threat Emails
In a concerning security incident, around 10 to 12 schools in Jalandhar city received emails containing bomb threats between 7 AM and 9 AM on Monday. The threatening communications triggered immediate alerts to law enforcement authorities, leading to a swift and coordinated response from the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police.
Police Mobilize Extensive Security Response
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police quickly mobilized multiple specialized units to address the potential threat. Anti-sabotage teams were deployed alongside local Station House Officers (SHOs), Assistant Commissioners of Police from Model Town, Cantt, and Central divisions, as well as officers of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police rank. This comprehensive security operation was launched to ensure thorough checks and maintain public safety.
Under close supervision of senior officials, multiple police teams conducted detailed anti-sabotage inspections at each affected educational institution. Simultaneously, cybercrime investigators initiated a forensic examination of the sender's email address to trace the origin of the threats and identify potential perpetrators.
Schools Cooperate as Police Bring Situation Under Control
Commissionerate Police officials confirmed that, through effective cooperation with school management teams, they successfully brought the volatile situation under control. Among the institutions that received the threatening emails was the Police DAV Public School, which is notably located within the Punjab Armed Police Campus premises.
The incident follows two consecutive nights of shooting incidents in the region, including one at a veterinarian's residence and another at an IVF center. While authorities have not officially linked these events, the timing has raised concerns about coordinated security challenges facing the area.
