Major Drug Bust in Jammu Division

In a significant crackdown on narcotics trade, Jammu and Kashmir police conducted multiple raids across the division on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of three drug peddlers and attachment of properties linked to two others.

The coordinated operation spanned several districts including Jammu, Reasi, and Kathua, marking one of the substantial anti-drug initiatives in the region recently.

Cash and Banned Tablets Seized in Katra Raid

Police officers recovered over ₹2 lakh in cash along with a substantial quantity of banned pharmaceutical tablets during a raid at a residential house in Katra town of Reasi district.

The targeted property belonged to Renu Devi, located near the Chintamani temple in Katra. During the search operation, authorities confiscated 100 Tramadol capsules, 74 Alprazolam tablets, and 14 Petril tablets in addition to the cash amount.

A police spokesman confirmed that preliminary investigation indicates the seized money represents proceeds from illegal sale of controlled substances.

Multiple Arrests and Heroin Seizures

In separate but connected actions, law enforcement apprehended two drug peddlers from Miran Sahib and Ware House areas in Jammu district.

From these arrests, police recovered 18.35 grams of heroin from one suspect and 9 grams of heroin from another, demonstrating the varied nature of narcotics circulating in the region.

Another accused was taken into custody in Kathua district, further expanding the scope of the anti-drug operation across Jammu division.

Property Attachment and Ongoing Investigation

As part of the comprehensive action against drug networks, authorities attached properties connected to two individuals involved in the narcotics trade. The attached assets include a residential house among other properties.

Police have registered a formal case and continue with further inquiries to identify the source of the drugs and expose the complete network behind this illegal trade.

The spokesman added that the investigation remains active with focus on uncovering the entire supply chain and bringing all involved parties to justice.
